Sarabi!
Boy, I'm not of a friend, not comin' by t'check on you when I knew good'n well that there was a fire very close to you. Please believe me when I say I honestly thought of you a number of times, hoping the flames didn't move in your direction. (I'm assuming you are south of the Black Forest area?) I didn't once think though about smoke being somethin' you'd have to deal with. I should've. My grandparronts have been having to shut up their house for days at a time due to fires around them. Their situation didn't require masks though. Oh Sarabi! How scary for you and your family. I'm really sorry about all this fire worry and concern. It's a tinderbox out there yet because you all just aren't gettin' any rain. Thanks so much for flyin' by t'let me know you're doin' okay though. You're one alright little gal. I wish I could share some of the over-abundance of the wet stuff we had all through the spring months. Agricultural fields here have huge bare spots because water sat on top of the ground for weeks at a time, killing the new corn and soybean sprouts. There is often a flash flood warning somewhere around us. The Mississippi River which is just 30 miles away from my house has been above flood stage for months now. It's so full, there's no one boating on it as it's too dangerous to be out there. See what I mean about my having plenty of water that I wish I could share with you?

So little Frosty Keet continues his status as "spoiled". Well, go figure. The little vagabond moves and claims his throne on the top most branch of the tree. *gasp* How can this be, my sweet Sarabi! You are the Queen of your domain!

Thanks so much for flyin' by t'let me know you're doin' okay. You're one alright little gal. Hey, while I'm thinkin' of it, the BC coordinators have recently sent out a message saying they're considering moving all activity to Facebook. I'm not sure if that means this site will be discontinued or if the idea will actually come about, but just in case, I'd like to give you my mom's email addy 'cause I couldn't stand the thought of never being able to chat with you again. You are the FIRST bird I thought of when I heard about this idea that's brewing. The addy is lyndemc2@mac.com just in case we lose touch here and you'd like to let me know how things are.

Big ol' ((macaw hug)) t'ya, Queen Sarabi
