Well, we have a whole new ball game, and it’s do or die time for the White Hawks. They need 4 to tie the current PBF score and 5 to go ahead, but Flash is trying too hard and doesn’t get enough of Chi Chi’s screw ball to control it. It hops right into Chi Chi’s glove, and she fires it over to Luigi for the first out (-1). Sophie gets on base when she lays into Chi Chi’s fast ball and gets herself a mighty fine double. Snowball’s on base with a walk for birds on 1st and 2nd. Puffin brings Sophie on in (+1) when he lays out a double. That’s one of the four runs they need. Next up is Picabo who has been struggling against Chi Chi’s curve ball today; it seems she really has his number, because the best he has been able to get off her pitches is a single. That would be enough to keep things going though. Let’s see what happens. Chi Chi winds up and fires that same curve ball right over the plate; Picabo swings and misses! Strike One!! The next pitch looks good, but as it reaches the plate it curves TOO much and the ump calls Ball!! Count is 1/1. Chi Chi tightens up, grounds herself and takes a deep breath as she fires that curve ball at him again, and once again he takes a swing but fans air. Strike Two!! Catcher Susan takes a long pause as she studies Picabo and then sends her signal to Chi Chi, but she doesn’t like that idea and shakes her head. Susan nods and sends another signal, and this time Chi Chi grins and nods. Picabo is watching this nervously, but he tries to shake off his fear of Chi Chi’s vicious curve ball. He is hoping something else will come across the plate. What will she send him for this all important pitch?
