Hi koopa. Mom would be happy to answer some questions any time. Every bird is different. You have to take cues from your bird and read there body language. Mom hadppeople say just force me to except attention and some saying wait so you won't destroy all trust. They had me a week and put me in a new cage I was freaked out from that. Then they put me in the living room. Mom would sit and talk and her son would to. Every chance they got. It took a few months I was ok with them but not company or people with hats. It took a few more months before I would take treats from them. They let me out every day. They only way they can pick me up is to use a perch. Some birds aren't cuddle bugs. They can do every thing with me except pet me. They don't know what I went thru in the other homes but hats and hands aren't my favorite things. Mom said if she never gets to pet me at least I have a good home. Some people told her if she had forced me I would have been fine. But she just didn't wanna do that.
Just keep talking and start giving treats then if you feel its right try to touch her or pick her up. If she doesn't feel right she will let you know. Just stay positive and loving. I hope that helps some.
We are still a work in progress but we have lots of love.
