Bottom of 9th
First batter up is Coach Chloe who has not had a very good game so far hitting the ball. Well, what do you know she hits a line drive that nets her a double and so the inning begins. Next batter is their pitcher, Poirot who would like nothing better than to get on base to keep the inning going but it is not to be when he hits a ground ball right to short fielder Kiwi who tosses it to Polly for out number one (-1). King Arthur can handle that wooden stick pretty well, he hits a long fly ball but it falls short of the fence and into the glove of The Bird for out number two (-2).
Things are looking pretty bleak
right now for the home team. Monty Mae is up and there is a lot of pressure on her pretty shoulders, she must make something happen or it is all over, right here and right now…Looks like she is ready as she steps up to the plate…She has let three balls and two strikes pass her so far…Quincy gets ready to throw her payoff pitch…Monty swings and hits the pitch…foul. Again, she hits the pitch foul, can’t say she isn’t trying her best. Quincy waves off Photon and decides to throw her special fast ball, she winds up and there goes the ball…Monty Mae sees it coming and swings and manages to get a lot of the bat on it…the ball is flying high and long toward the right field fence where The Bird is watching it very closely. She makes the leap for the ball and the ball falls into her glove and she very quickly closes her hand over the ball to make sure she doesn’t drop it when she hits the ground. She has done it…that is out number three (-3) and the end of the game.
