TOP OF THE NINTH INNING~
Micky hits a lead-off FOUR-BAGGER and he slowly trots around the bases savoring the moment (+1). The Bird steps right up and hits a long ball in the gap for a triple. Jade records an RBI when The Bird steps on home plate (+1) off of Jade’s single. Quincy also finds that he has hit the ball well enough to record a single moving Jade to second base. Photon heard that there was some nice fresh cantaloupe in the dugout so he wants to get there fast and the fastest way was for him to hit it outta here. His Upper-Decker brings in another three runs with Jade, Quincy, and Photon crossing home plate…(+3). Polly continues the hitting streak that the Dragons are on when she hits a bullet down the first base line that Raffi dives for and catches after one hop. He makes a great throw to Kelly who catches it holding Polly at third base. Waddles ball was softly hit and it fell to the ground and that gets him to first base. Archimedes also gets a single and that moves Waddles to second to load the bases…Cookie, a friend of Chloe’s, but not during a baseball game and that is obvious when he smacks the ball through the gap for a nice three bagger. That makes three RBIs for him when Polly, Waddles, and Archimedes cross home plate (+3). Cookie crosses home plate (+1) when Micky hits a triple of his own. This is some inning for the Dragons…King Arthur stands up and goes out to his pitcher to try and calm him down and get Poirot back on track. After a brief talk Art gets back in position behind the plate. Poirot seems to have calmed down a little but the proof will be in the pudding…his first pitch to The Bird is a strike and those have been few and far between in this inning. The next pitch is hit by The Bird but is hit on the ground allowing Sid to pick it up and toss it to Monty Mae for the first out of the inning, finally (-1). Poirot finally has it together and strikes out both Jade (-2) and Audie (-3). Sure would have been nice for the Grey team if he had found this at the start of the inning instead of at the end..
They scored a total of NINE runs in this inning for a total of 25 runs, this makes a very long road for the GGWs if they are to have any chance at all of winning. They will need 14 runs just to tie…OMG!
