The Open Chest
Hello, Queen Little Angel here with THE REST OF THE STORY. I am having a wonderful time in the Castle. The Tropical Fruits Garden is nearing completion, and soon every bird will be able to enjoy all the wild, exotic fruits and plants from their native habitats.
"The blackness closes tightly around the group of birdies trapped in the dungeon with Queen Little Angel.Dixie & Little Angel
stand close to one another as the other birdies that are trapped in the dark, damp, dank, dismal dungeon gather around them in a dark circle, each one thinking of a way they can get out of there! Everyone has got to give it their best shot and think about what we can do! "Since its so dark down here,we should form a fid bond by each of us taking the wing of the next birdie beside us and keep going down the line like that so we never lose another birdie in our group!" Dixie explains. So, wingtip to wingtip to wingtip and so on and so forth all down the line the birdies form a fid chain to keep each one safe and with one other! "Now I have a great idea,"Cookie steps up from the blackness of the eerie dankness of the cavern and then starts telling them all his idea.
"there has to be a doorway here. Somewhere that the pirates used to go in and out. If we move around the room wing in wing, we are sure to find it. We have to be careful."
UP in Popeye's office SamIAm, Spot, Willie and Polly watch the images on the screen. Popeye chuckles, " I sure hope SKY's idea to scare Little Angel into being more careful works"
"Ok, let's give this a try" Snowy says as he grabs tightly onto Chirpy and Falco's wings. Slowly, tiny step at a time the line moves towards the wall. "OOOWWWW!" cries Cori in the darkness "I found the wall."
Using their wings the group touch the walls and side step one step at a time along the whole wall, and around the corner. "NOTHING!" Dino sighs sadly, " Now what?"
"Let's go back to where the chest is." Queen LA says, leading the way. As they proceed towards the wood box, Zippy trips over something hidden in the mounds of jewels and coins. Bending down, Zippy feels for the object she had tripped over. "Here, I found this!!" she holds up a very rusty, old key.
The birdies let out a startled gasp. " It's the key to the chest!" Dixie takes the heavy key and feels it's shape with his one free wingtip.
"Let's open the chest!" Snowy says eagerly.
"Noooo, Captain Jack will be back and who knows what will become of us if we dare" Cori adds.
"We'll open it quickly and look inside, then we can lock it and hide the key again" Queen Little Angel replies, taking the old key in her two wing tips. She very carefully inserts it into the lock on the chest. With much effort she turns it and they hear a loud "clicking sound" as the lock springs open and...............
see ya soon, With the REST OF THE STORY, love Queen Little Angel
