Hey Coach Sam
Even though it's bad news, I thought I'd deliver it to you anyway so you know what happened on Friday....

On another sunny summer afternoon, Birdie BazeBol was in full swing at Kevlar Memorial Stadium as the ‘Tiel Terrors hosted the Silver Sluggers, a team playing their last regular season match-up.

Runs were hard to come by in the first four innings. Silver Slugger CADEN snagged a SOLO HOME RUN (+1) in the second to put the Sluggers on the board but they would not score again until the 7th inning when NAPOLEON’s single became a run on the combo of SABER’s ground out and Coach SAM’s double (+1). Singles from CADEN and LALO pushed Sam over home plate (+1) then became RBIs when JETTA tripled (+2)

The ‘Tiel Terrors got on the board in the 2nd inning as well when PEEPER’s triple became a run on SUNSHINE’s single (+1) Sunshine would touch home plate after PEPPER was walked and ZIPPY doubled. (+1) The 5th inning was huge for the ‘Tiels when singles from GROVER, SILVER and TOBY loaded the bases. A walk for PANTHER scored Grover (+1) then PEEPERS cleared the bases with a GRAND SLAM HOME RUN! (+4) The bases were loaded a second time when SUNSHINE, MOGGIE and ZIPPY got singles then MIKEY brought in (+2) on a double and GROVER brought in (+2) more with his triple. SILVER cleaned things up with a HOME RUN (+2) making the fifth an 11 run inning for the Terror’s.

The 6th inning found the ‘Tiels with loaded bases again, this time on walks for SUNSHINE, PEPPER and MOGGIE. ZIPPY didn’t hesitate for a moment but went for the GRAND SLAM opportunity and got it! (+4)

The score at the close of the 6th was 1 / 17; Tiel Terrors.

But the Sluggers kicked it into gear in the 7th adding the afore mentioned 4 runs to their dismal score then went on to hold the Terrors in the bottom of the inning. SABER started up the 8th with a SOLO HOME RUN (+1) then Angel tripled in SAM’s single (+1) and CADEN tripled in Angel (+1). LOLO joined Caden on base then was brought in home on CUBIRD’s massive HOME RUN (+3) putting the score at 11- 17.

In the bottom of the 8th MIKEY singled and GROVER brought him home on a HOME RUN. (+2)

In need of at least six runs, the Sluggers went to bat. SABER’s triple became a run on ANGEL’s single (+1), LALO scored (+2) when she nailed a long distance HOMER that brought in Angel ahead of her but the Terrors tightened up their defense and made this game their victory.
