Hi Chloe... TiPaul here
I am so sorry for not having gotten back to you sooner, but Pepper managed to get his toe stuck in some other bird's beak... and nobirdy is saying whose. Mom taught us not to tattle. The thing is, now she has to bathe his foot and exercise the toe and hope that keeps the blood circulating and it will heal, even if it is crooked. Mom says it looks like he** and she took a picture of it to show us because we are not allowed near him when the bandage is not on it. Today she tried a new way to get his foot bandaged and it turned out better than the vet. It is red like his tail and he can get around pretty good with it. I will ask mom to take a picture and put it on his page. Mom feels she is jinxed. Every year so far that she has had fundraisers done for her rescue some sort of expense has come up. The first year it was the amputation of Zak`s toe, and that was a big cost. Last year we moved, and the bird room needed several repairs, which Mom paid a good part of, and some came from the sale of the old house, and this year... Pepper had to get free. He was a good boy not to get blood all over the place, and after Mom had him bandaged the first night, she said something to Dad about she is glad she had the couch and chair scotch guarded. The blood came off easily hours after the accident. Mom takes Pepper back to the vet next week, and she will know more then. In the meantime, he is on yummy tasting antibiotics, pain meds that she stopped because he is not acting like he is in any sort of pain anymore, and a local antibiotic cream that she has to put on each time she changes the bandage, which is once a day, which for her is once too much sometimes. LOL Pepper does not know the meaning of sit still while mom is trying to make things better. We are all hoping and praying that no surgery will be necessary... but if there will be, it will be after next weekend. Mom has things scheduled next weekend, and she has nothing at all after that for a while so she wants to plan things so that she is at home all the time, with the exception of maybe having to go out for a few things like milk, bread, and things like that. Dad does not drive, so he will stay with Pepper and all of us, but mom would make sure the fridge is stocked beforehand. Pepper asked me to say thank you from him for having asked about him. I must say he is a good frother and he and I play well together, and no - I am not the one whose beak his toe got into. He and I share my boxes and play together every day, well, we did until this happened. Geez, I wrote you another book. Sorry Chloe. I am going to perch for the night now. I did get a few licks of my Mom`s ice cream while she was typing. I love late night blogging. See you soon...
