Hi Squeaky
It would be really hard to vote for MVP, I think the whole team did well. I knew about Muffin playing reserve, but didn't know that you had been denied the opportunity. It was weird this year, Rudy wanted to play for the 'toos, but he was denied and ended up on the wonder wings, I think, and it was because he was pink! A picnic for the team is a fantastic idea, though, and when your mom gets back it will be an ideal time. Let me know if I can help. Jane said she'd like to do FL and NJ next year, and mom is all for that.
Our weather looked terrible yesterday morning, with rain and thunderstorms predicted for the entire 3 day weekend, but it was an absolutely gorgeous afternoon. Mom ended up at the pool for the whole afternoon, didn't get home until after 3.
Some of you know this already, but some don't, so we're telling everyone officially today: mom is searching for another bird. She has been visiting petfinder.com for a couple of weeks, hoping to adopt. One problem with most rescues is that they want you to jump through hoops to prove that you want and know how to care for a bird, which is understandable. Those are the rescues you can reach. We've tried to reach our local PEAC, to which mom pays dues, without success. The phone doesn't work and they don't respond to emails, so they must not want to adopt out any of the numerous birds they have listed on petfinder.com.
A rescue which is a long drive from here, in Ohio, will not let mom adopt a bird without transporting a cage as well. Mom has explained that we have travel cages as well as a large mansion of a cage at home, but they are adamant that the cage must go with the bird. Mom drives a Chevy, not an SUV or van, so that's out of the question. She filled out an application this morning for Butler Parrot rescue, which is where she found Gizmo, and will mail that out on Tuesday, but if anyone knows of anyone in the Pittsburgh area who might be able to help, please let us know. The house is just too quiet! You'd think we make enough noise between the two of us, but you'd be wrong!
Anyway, I hope you're having a great day, weather notwithstanding, and getting lots of love over the holiday weekend. Hugs, Falco
