Hi Art... TiPaul here
I understand how you feel about changing homes. I did it 3 times and Mom makes me feel greyt. She sometimes forgets to get me a new box to chew, but that was during the time she was worried sick about Pepper's toe and since Pepper's cage is right next to mine, I was able to talk to him and tell him Mom is only trying to take care of him. Pepper is not gentle like me, and he rough houses Mom all the time, but he sucked up to her the whole time while he was unable to do things on his own. Now, he is back to being Pepper again. Mom says I am not a typical male Grey. I am gentle and loving and she says I must have been around too many girls when I was young. I got nasty a few times in the spring but not often. It took me a long time to adjust to a new home, and Mom said she never let the other people come to visit that it would confuse me even more. I really cannot say what is best in a situation like yours. It is one of those darned if you do, darned if you don't. If you see your Dad, you will wonder if you are going home with him, but if you don't you will always wonder why you are here. I think maybe it is best that you see him, so you know he loves you and that his health is not good. The important thing is for you to know he loves you and is doing what he feels is best for you. This makes it more gradual, and not a sudden change, and you have been visiting there for as long as I can remember. It is wonderful that you have been able to do that. Mom has arrangements for Marley's Menagerie as a whole, but there are certain birds that she wants to stay together and has made requests for that too. I am a bit lost on this empty cage beside the computer table and the travel cage. Mom has a play stand in the computer room and we step up on her to go with her. There is no need to go in a travel cage or anything. If we see a travel cage, it means going somewhere to visit or worse - the vet. Mom has to physically put us in it, any of us. None of us will willingly step into it. No, actually, the one bird that stepped into it willingly was Sassy, but she is gone to live with Mom Deb now. Hopefully our Mom will start to breathe a bit easier now. While I have your attention, I hope you and your new and old flock are coming to the BBQ I am having tomorrow, just to celebrate the end of summer. Of course, Mom is not cooking a thing during the baseball game. Our frother Micky is playing and he is one excited Dragon. Hope to see you tomorrow. Tell everybirdy you speak to about it!
