Good Morning Poirot
I so hope you slept well last night and that not a single feather needed pestering. Nights are rather boring, aren't they... all that time with nothing to do. And the longer nights of the year are coming. Oh dear. It's good to know that new feathers are still trying to make an appearance and that your beak hasn't scared them off completely. I'm sorry you had some bad days last week. It's wonderful that you've had some smoke-free ones and that you've been able to go out to the aviary. Is this thing with you not being crazy about being out there something new or have I just forgotten your comments from the past that indicated you'd rather be inside? You probably know Alex Pepperburg's favorite line "Can I go back now?" I guess he often asked that when he was ready to be done answering all those questions.

Things are good here; the temps remain parrot-friendly but we're in need of rain. The yard is now toast. You can hear the grass crunching when it's walked on. The aviary has stayed pretty green because the grass and plants inside have been watered but outside is a brown world. And to think that back in the spring water was standing everywhere, even covering the road at times.

I was up on the loft yesterday, hanging from that rod, eyeing the couch and perhaps ready for another drop but the landing zone had too many dogs on it. When mom looked up to see what I was doing, she noted that I was staring at the dogs which then highlighted where they were which then got them a reprimand because they're not suppose to be on that couch. They all shot off the sofa so fast, it startled me and I quickly swung myself back up on the carpeting above so so much for a second attempt at couch crashing. I have a one flight feather on each wing now so am getting a tiny bit more distance in my fluttering. If only I could achieve the impressive beauty of your fully-feathered wings.... *sigh* If mom would just leave those scissors in the closet where they belong. The end of your millet spray would've been spared too had scissors at your house been left along as well, huh.

As always, you're in my heart ~
