Hi Rico and Paulie
Oh how sad that fall is coming closer with each passing day here! Mom had a BBQ today to kind of say good bye to summer and Nana and the skin sibs all came,Nana brought all the food mostly,Chinese sausages, pork chops, hamburgers, and a rum cake! Mom contributed the hot dogs and the rolls and she did all the grilling! We all got to go outside and join in the party sitting on the deck,Mom gave us some millet spray to enjoy and make a mess out of and Nana gave us some bread!
Mom thought the same thing about dad and the methylprednisolone but he didn't want to be on it any longer with all the other percocets and Ibruprofens that he's taken! He's just so impatient to get back to normal again and to be able to sit down and eat and not have to stand up still! He has an appointment with the neurosurgeon Tuesday so hopefully they will suggest the surgery to get this all fixed once and for all!
How awesome that the littlest of your babies went home with the Cuddler! We just love the name you chose,Calypso and we all love the song too! The Cuddler and our Mom think alike when it comes to names for us fids! Just like she named our baby fister Candida from the song too! What baby wouldn't thrive having the Cuddler for his/her Mom?And right out of the box too!We do hope the last 3 babies will find great forever homes at the bird fair, they all must be so beautiful!
The indigo blue may come from Betty if she is the Mom to both Rico and Paulie's clutches, there are lots of different shades of blue in budgie genetics and Mom eggsperimented with it all! Betty's parronts may have had the indigo in their genetic history, and it can lay dormant for years until you get the right combination of color schemes to mix and match with! The normal blues in budgies are the ones most appearing when you breed a blue budgie to a green, green is the most normal color when breeding two different colors and all the rest are dominant more or less!Mom got those pieds after her third or 4th clutch of breeding a normal green to a turquiose blue budgie. They had the same markings and colorings that Calypso has! Some had every color on them from greens, yellows, blues and whites with a bit of violet! It was fun for Mom to get all the dominant colors out in the following clutches that she bred! Rico may have a color genetics pool in his background from his parronts or even grandparronts! The different hues come out with each clutch that you breed! Mom even had twin budgie babies, two from one egg, they were like mini keets, and were much smaller than your normal sized keet!
Please give the BW a warm hug from all of us and tell her we wish her to feel better and that her pinkeye is healed soon! What a pain to have that when you are having to go to school and concentrate also!
Please give everyone a big hug from all of us here and my Mom gives the Cuddler a big hug also! She's doing such great work with the budgie genetics and getting all those fantastic mutations to come out! What beautiful babies
