Hi Cu-Bird
YAY, you got a pig! They are so much fun, aren't they? Hulk, Raffikki, and I are practicing with ours at the track, why don't you join us? We'd love to have a fourth, as we think that's how the heats will go, 4 piggies at a time.
We are still trying to get a good pic of little Peppino. Mom thinks Peppy suits him, as he's never still when the camera is out. Once we get a nice pic or 2, we'll introduce him here on BC.
Yesterday mom took Nghi, her husband, and a cousin to see the wildlife center, the National Aviary, and the Strip District. Okay, everyone knows about the wildlife center and the aviary, so we'd better explain the last stop. No, the Strip isn't where people go to get nude, but it's a shopping area close to downtown. In the past it was strictly a large scale, wholesale shopping street or 2 where greengrocers, butchers, etc. went daily to buy produce, meats, etc. for their stores. Later it became a mix of wholesale and retail stores, and today it's becoming more gentrified, with bars, restaurants, retail clothing, souvenirs, and a mix of the old wholesale stores. They found not only the Asian Market, but a new Vietnamese restaurant, where they had a late lunch, then they went to Pennsylvania Macaroni Co. for mom's Italian needs, and on to Wholey's Fish Market. It was a long, hot, but fun day.
This morning mom had other areas of the wildlife center to do. She's been doing the RVS animals for so long, they must have had pity on her, because she had the squirrel (pre release) porch today and the recovery room. She was happy to see red and flying squirrels on the squirrel porch, as well as 3 cages of possums. In the recovery room were a possum, a box turtle, a great horned owl, and 2 red tailed hawks. It was a great morning! Nice variety.
Hope you are having a good day, lots of sun and attention! Hugs, Willie
