The Coach Duty Wildlife Center visit
Hi my friends, Casey here with our Monday blog. The day has started out sunny but very cold. I am starting to wonder if I missed that two days of summer this year? Oh well, the weather at the BC Castle is always warm and sunny. Happy Monday. Now, for the continuing Adventures of Casey and Kiddo.
Casey was very eggcited over the visit to the Bailey Memorial Flight. The huge Raptors were so happy and beautiful. Kiddo eggplained to Casey how Bailey and Miss Falco; King Willie's fister, had fallen in love. " Bailey was Falco's one true love."
Casey and Kiddo climb back up onto George's back and started off towards the Coach Duty Wildlife Center. George tells Casey about the Center as they trot along the walkway. " While King Willie was running for Bird of the Month, he took us on a virtual tour of a real-life Wildlife Center where his Momma volunteers. Inspired by the good work they do there, King Willie began work on the BCs very own Wildlife Center. With the help of others, it was quickly built and the first inhabitants were moved in, in September 2011.
"This is a wonderful addition to Bird Channel's Legendary Castle. Let's hurry I can't wait to see all the little animals that are staying there. " Casey flaps his wings with enthusiasm. Kiddo grins widely at Casey, happy to see his eggxcitement.
"We must be quiet when we visit so we don't frighten the baby animals." Kiddo warns, " There it is! The Coach Duty Wildlife Center." A large sign hung boldly over the door welcoming the Adventures to visit.
"As they three friends approach the door opens wide and King Willie and Falco step out to welcome their guests. " HEllo Casey, I am happy to see that George and Kiddo have brought you by for a tour. You are going to enjoy yourself. There are lots of little animals here right now.' King Willie gestures for Casey, Kiddo and George to follow him inside, while Falco makes sure that the door is firmly closed.
"Oh my" Casey exclaims taking in the large room filled with pens, cages, enclosures and nursery boxes. Peering carefully into an open box, Casey giggles as 2 baby squirrels chitter at the stranger. Moving on Casey sees a large pen with a litter of small raccoons playing on their tree house. " Hello, nice to met you." Casey waves as he walks past to the next enclosure. ' Kiddo look! Baby deer" The twin fawns blink and stand up to get a better look at the visitors.
"Casey come meet Penelope Possum" Falco picks up the small animal in her wings. " She has been here for a while, and loves to meet everyone who stops in for a visit." Falco smiles as she pats Penelope on the head before putting her back into her pen.
"I could stay here all day and visit with every little animal" Casey says, looking into a cage with a tiny Bluebird.
"We must keep going Casey, I have so much more to show you" George purrs softly,....
see you all tomorrow
with love and votes
