Hi Ditto... Pepper here
I did not forget you - we just did not get much computer time these days because Mom has been going nuts getting things done. We are having warmer weather and being in the country up north, that is so rare after the awful summer we had, so we are taking advantage and just milking it up. It will be winter before we know it so we will be stuck indoors enough. Okay - to adopt in the USA is hard because of the laws of quarantine. Having the right paperwork is an exact science and where Mom runs a rescue, she knows what to do, others do not. She prefers whenever to keep it local, so she can also visit with birds she has placed. there is more than one grey living here and we tend to get along to a point, but I am the boss and they know it. What I say goes, and they are not going to get away with things unless I let them. What was wrong with me - I stupidly got onto another bird's cage and got my toe bitten, almost bitten off. Because Mom has taken some training with both her old and new vet, she knew how to bandage me after stopping the bleeding, and she only took me to the vet the next day. She had to change my bandage every day and do hydro massage therapy every day, and I let her, because I knew she was taking care of me. I am better now, and Mom saved my toe from having to be amputated. I still cannot bend it perfectly but it is getting better. when it comes to picking a bird, Mom always believes that it is the bird who picks its owner, not the other way around. Your mom should try that. So how many are in your flock now - I see a picture of a cockatiel on your page now... is your mom going to put up a page for the tiel or will you share? As for our flock, the birds you see on Bird Channel are our flockily. The ones you do not see are the ones that come and are put for adoption once Mom is sure they are healthy and ready for a new home. She does not talk much about them because she does not interact with them in the same way for fear of bonding too closely with them. She does not want to have a hundred birds here. LOL Stop by any time and visit. I am going to help Mom with supper now, because she is going out tonight. See you soon.
