Hi Rico and Paulie
Mom and Dad finally came home late this afternoon and Dad is in a lot of pain from the surgery. The dr gave him some oxycodone for the pain and sent him home with some scripts for oxycodone and flexeril. They got to the hospital at around 10:05am and Mom finally had to drop dad off at the door as she had circled around four times to get a parking spot and there was none from one end of the hospital to the other, after another half hour of circling around the hospital grounds she found a space to park and went in but by that time they had already taken dad in to prep him for surgery. She had to wait another 50 minutes before she could see him and it was brief, then she had to go out to the waiting room and read the big screen monitor they had on the wall with all the different colors and numbers on it to see just where dad was,(pink was surgery in progress, blue was being registered, gray was ready to see family, etc)Then the dr called Mom sometime around 3 in the afternoon and he told Mom what had been done and what dad could do,and that MOm could see dad in an hour but that went longer,he had to go through phase I of recovery and then phase II before she could see him,she kept running over to the rolling big screen monitor to check what color dad was in to see if she could go see him! Finally she got to go in and see him and he was in pain, the nurse brought him something to eat and drink and gave him a pain pill and then took his BP and then asked him if he was okay and what scale of pain was he in.Dad said he was a 1 but he's not that now!Can you imagine they glued the incision in his back with stuff called Dermabond?
We are always happy to help with the budgie genetics, its kind of deep but very interesting! And its so much fun to see what the clutches look like when you breed one budgie of a specific color to another color specimen!
Betty sure is keeping busy these days with all those eggs! Those sweet little babies must be so cute but they sure seem really rambunctious! We hope that the breeder can have the time to tame those wild babies down by Sunday!Calypso sounds so sweet, and what a funny little fid he is,wanting to do things his way!Looks like Calypso just wants to have fun checking out the world around him!He sounds just like a little kid who doesn't want to get interrupted!
How awesome that the breeder got a pretty blue boy for Veronica! And you are so right about a budgie must pick out his or her own mate,Mom had that problem so many times when she was trying to match up the budgies she had here none of them wanted to mate with their chosen mate that Mom had picked out for them! And what's with the little blue boy sitting on top of your cage checking you out?
How is the Cuddler doing these days? I do hope that she is not working too hard and all her classes aren't too heavy! How is the BW and the Feeder doing in their classes? How did the BW do with her concert?I'll bet she did really fantastic! We all just can't thank you enough for all th
