Hi Carter
Mom and Dad finally came home late this afternoon and Dad is in a lot of pain from the surgery. The dr gave him some oxycodone for the pain and sent him home with some scripts for oxycodone and flexeril. They got to the hospital at around 10:05am and Mom finally had to drop dad off at the door as she had circled around four times to get a parking spot and there was none from one end of the hospital to the other, after another half hour of circling around the hospital grounds she found a space to park and went in but by that time they had already taken dad in to prep him for surgery. She had to wait another 50 minutes before she could see him and it was brief, then she had to go out to the waiting room and read the big screen monitor they had on the wall with all the different colors and numbers on it to see just where dad was,(pink was surgery in progress, blue was being registered, gray was ready to see family, etc)Then the dr called Mom sometime around 3 in the afternoon and he told Mom what had been done and what dad could do,and that MOm could see dad in an hour but that went longer,he had to go through phase I of recovery and then phase II before she could see him,she kept running over to the rolling big screen monitor to check what color dad was in to see if she could go see him! Finally she got to go in and see him and he was in pain, the nurse brought him something to eat and drink and gave him a pain pill and then took his BP and then asked him if he was okay and what scale of pain was he in.Dad said he was a 1 but he's not that now!Can you imagine they glued the incision in his back with stuff called Dermabond?
Dad is in such pain tonight and he was so hungry as he couldn't have anything to eat since 10:00pm last night so Mom made him some eggs and toast at 5:30 when they got home,3 hours later he was starving again so she made him some veggies with pasta in it! Now he is finally sleeping on the couch and snoring and Mom doesn't want to disturb him,it was hard for him to get off the couch, very painful,so where does that leave Mom? He's not going to make the 13 stairs to their bedroom tonight and Mom won't go up there and sleep alone! Oh well maybe she can sleep on the floor in the tv room beside dad! She needs to make sure he's going to be okay. She's so tired and wants to sleep but she's going to finish our blogs first! Mom just
can't wait for her visit with your sweet Mom tomorrow night! She's more than looking forward to it!We soo appreciate all the prayers you are sending our way! We love you all sooo much! Wishing you a great day and I'm sending you all my love along with warm birdie hugs and soft beakie kisses! Love,Kallie
