Hello My Sweet Guy
... the darling Sun Conure I will always love, no matter what! Your not being by my page in a few days does not make you a bad bird! If it did, I'd be a very bad bird myself because I've not been by here lately myself. My typist has some explaining to do, that's for sure. It's kind of a running joke here about mom's bad luck at getting BC notes written. She says she works like crazy to get things done so she can have a few minutes of computer time to herself but it seems almost EVERY time she gets set down and logged in on somebirdie's account, before the first word's even typed, a customer calls or dad comes home and is ready to start on a new project or someone needs mom to come help somewhere. Mom has even text Dad little notes that say "You must be close to home; I'm about to log into the BC..." and 9 out of 10 times it's true!

I haven't gotten much shoulder time in the past week or so; mom's not be sitting down much. I'm here at the moment though, looking at your good looking orange and yellow feathers and getting all dreamy-eyed. Funny you should ask about any new birds in the family. Check out Kirby's page. That'll answer your question. The story goes that mom felt Kirby was "odd bird out" sometimes when it came to him, Zoren and Jensen hanging out together so she asked a lady in the bird club who knows lots of breeders if any raised Yellow-sided conures. Kitty said she'd keep her eyes open for one. About six months later, mom came across this beautiful little bird in a pet store (she'd only run in to see if they had algae eaters for dad's fish tank). This young conure was doing somersaults and being so cute, mom took a little video which she showed to dad once she was back in the car. Dad asked if she was going to buy it but mom said no, she shouldn't. 10 miles down the road towards home Dad looks at mom and says, "You'll regret not getting that bird. It's the perfect one for Kirby." and so around they turn and go back for little Paige. Then wouldn't you know it, the bird club lady calls a few days later to say she's gone ahead and bred two of her conures and now has a baby with mom's name on it! What could mom say but "Wonderful!" So I now have not one but three Green-Cheek conures to avoid. It's why I've basically moved back into the big bird room. I'm even sleeping in there at night now. And here mom said there'd be no more new birdies here for the rest of her days. Ha. She shouldn't waste her breath like that.

I bet you are just so adorable with vanilla ice cream on your beak. What a nice consolation prize for having to endure a wing trim. Those things are so demoralizing, aren't they. Were you able to fly before the trim? I know with wings you're tempted to chase after "Him", and it'd be all the more tempted if he taking up more of your Mama's time than you'd prefer. He's such a brilliant boy, tackling those college prep classes. I bet you feel at least a little bit of pride concerning that
