Hi Athena
The goal of the center is to release all the animals we take in, so yes, if they all survive (and they should), they will all be released. If the weather holds, the squirrels may be able to go before winter sets in, but if it changes so they can't find food to cache, they will spend the winter on the porch.
Mom just signed on and got the squawkatiels page! She left the site, came back through Firefox, and was able to sign on and get here. I hope it was just a minor glitch, and we're not gonna get squawked all afternoon.
First of all, Bree was here yesterday to groom all of us. When mom showed her Maxine's feet, she said she thinks someone 'declawed' her like you would a cat, by taking the whole last joint off her toes. She also said it must have been years ago and not very painful any more, because Maxine seems to be able to perch even without that last joint. What a terrible thing to do to any animal!
Anna stopped later on last night to talk about this Saturday when mom has a major fundraising event to attend, and also about when she'll be here watching all of us for the Parrot Lovers' Cruise. She and mom decided that mom will make a ton of food for us, birdie bread, and chop mixed with rice and beans, make portions and freeze them. She can thaw what she needs, and won't have to get up super early on days when she is substitute teaching. She's working 4 or 5 days a week, which is great!
Mom came back from water aerobics and 10 laps at the pool today. She is now ready for a nap, but we're not. We're ready for play time.
Hope you are having a great day, it's beautiful, sunny and cool here today. Hugs, Falco
