Good morning Romeo & Company
It sounds like fall is definitely in full swing at your house. It's suppose to reach 80° here today but I'm told it's the last horray of summer; next week's temps are more autumn-like. Harvest activities continue outside my front window. Us 'Tiels can't seem to get a decent nap in the sun of the bay window without some gigantic truck or tractor lumbering by and disturbing our sleep. I've given up trying to lounge on the boing hanging there; it's less disturbing to hang out away from the windows right now.

Your front door with its new brass hardware looks so sharp! I can see why the neighbor thought the door had been repainted; it does look all bright and brilliant! I bet your mom smiles with pride each time she walks through that door now, knowing this is the gateway to HOME and the company of her precious cockatiel family.

Speaking of 'tiel family, yes, we have that hormone issue around here. There four couples that crave the opportunity to work at raising a family. We guys spend a lot of time trying to get under the brown paper that's laid out on the floor but since it's not a safe place for us to be, mom ends up hanging our nest boxes so we'll stay off the floor. All would be sweet and peaceful if my goofy dad bird didn't think he had to try and keep the rest of us from settling into a box. Once he picks a box and starts sitting in it (he doesn't have a mate anymore, but pals up with Niles, a young fellow from the adopted group), the rest of us can nest in peace. We always hope Tiki hurries up and picks a box, moves in and leaves the rest of us alone. Gonzo will lay three or four eggs but as always, I know they'll be replaced with those fake things, but that's okay, I'll help her sit on them anyway. We don't have our nest boxes yet this year. We've not started trying to get under the paper. I imagine the urge will come soon enough though.

May happiness always be what comes in that beautiful blue front door of yours—

Your friend,
Grover <")
