Hi Raven
Does the baby have a name yet? We can't wait to meet him either.
The opera last night was sensational! Great cast, spectacular scenery, good dancers, just a perfect performance. Mom saw Aida in Rome at the Terme di Caracalla a long time ago, and nothing will ever beat that performance for spectacle value, but this one came close. There were horses, a Harris hawk, a python, and greyhounds in the triumphal march scene, as well as an old Pittsburgh sports figure to be the champion. (Does anyone remember Bob Friend? He was an old Pirate, and was in the triumphal march. Charlie Batch was in it on opening night and Franco Harris will be there Friday, so mom missed both Steelers...)
Well, it's a rainy, cool day here in Pittsburgh. Mom was on the squirrel porch getting soaked this morning, but all 16 gray squirrels, 7 flying squirrels, one screech owl, and one possum all got cleaned, fed, and watered. Mom got scratched up on the hardware cloth which sticks out near all the cage doors, too. She got blood on her last remaining clean blue shirt of course. (It couldn't have happened when she was wearing her oldest cleaning clothes, right?) The avian nursery was her other job today, so all the pigeons, doves, cedar waxwing, and both screech owls in there were treated to clean cages, fresh food and water as well. She forgot her camera so didn't get a pic of the 10 baby possums.
After the center, she went to the pool and did 18 laps today! Wow, that's her highest to date.
I hope you are having a great day and getting lots of love. Hugs, Falco
