Hi Tucker
Hello every birde !!
For my BOTM campaign I am going to be using my Star Trek Enterprise shuttlecraft, the Galileo, to take us on far flung adventures from the very bottom of Earth’s deepest seas to the far reaches of the Universe.
Every birdie get a couple of canteens and fill them with water. You will need it for our trip today. We are going to one of the lowest and hottest spots in the USA. Strap in so we can take off.

Death Valleys Badwater Basin is the point of the lowest elevation in North America at 282 feet (86 m) below sea level.
Don’t forget to drink your water. You can get dehydrated here and not know it because your sweat evaporates so fast.
Furnace Creek has the record for the highest reliably reported air temperature in the world, 134 °F (56.7 °C) on July 10, 1913.

On April 22, 2012, Death Valley recorded the hottest April temperature in North America: 113 °F (45 °C), beating the previous record by over 2°F.

Nothing grows here do to the fact that there are only 2 in of rainfall a year. And some years not even that much or none at all. Dos any birde want to get out and look around? I will wait right here in the shuttle in the AC.

There is a mystery here also. There are rocks weighing up to 700 lbs that move across the desert by themselves. They are called “sailing stones". Scientist can not explain how or what moves the rocks.

Hay!! Did you see that? A long legged bird with a long neck, tail and beak just went by. Oh, here comes a coyote. He must be chasing that Roadrunner.

On February 11, 1933 Death Valley National Monument was proclaimed a national park by President Hoover, placing the area under federal protection. In 1994, the monument was redesigned as Death Valley National Park.
