Hello Lars
All of your votes are deeply appreciated. If I don’t thank you every day its only because there is only so much time in one day.

Dec. 11: Ms BBs BOTM campaign.

Its Hump Day. What better day to go where we are headed!

I hope no birdie is afraid of heights cause we are off to the highest spot on Earth. Tomorrow will be the 2nd highest spot.

1st up, (yea that’s a pun!), we have Mount Everest, at 29,035 feet above sea level.
In 1856, the first published height of Everest, then known as Peak XV, at 29,002 ft (8,840 m) was established by the Great Trigonometric of British India. The 29,029 ft that is the mostly widely height accepted was first determined by an Indian survey in 1955.
There have been many other measurements taken by other countries but they are all around the same. When you get that high what is a couple feet!!!

In 1865, Everest was named after Sir George Everest by the Royal Geographical Society upon a recommendation by Andrew Waugh, the British Surveyor General of India.
Although Tibetans had called Everest "Chomolungma" for centuries, Waugh was unaware of this because Tibet and Nepal were closed to foreigners.
There is a lot of conflict over the mountain because the international border between China and Nepal runs across the precise summit point.
If you were hatched at the top what country would you call yours???

The first successful ascent and decent of the mountain was made by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay on 29 May, 1953.
219 Humans have gone to the Human Rainbow Bridge since 1922 when the mountain was first tried to be climbed.
Why climb mountains when you can take a helo to the top like Didier Delsalle did

In May 2005, pilot Didier Delsalle of France landed a Eurocopter AS350 B3 helicopter on the summit of Mount Everest. That is the highest a helo has ever flown.
