Hi Calico
That sure is a long time to have been listening to police calls! I think that was what my dad's first scanner was a Regency and it had about 8 switches to program frequencies on and an antennae that stuck straight up!It was the crystal version.Kind of primitive to what he has now!Mom remembers that thing squawking all night long(he had it going 24/7)even when they were in bed sleeping, just like he does now in the winter to hear the police call in an accident concerning weather related incidents so he knows that soon he'll be going out to work. My dad now has a Bearcat trunk tracker BC895XLT and a Realistic 300 Pro2004 table models and a Bearcat hand held trunktracker and he has another hand held that's upstairs,he attatched it to the head board of the bed so he can hear what's going on if they get a call out in the middle of the night! The hand held in in the tv room so Mom can listen to what's going on with the plowing in the wintertime like right now the storm is in progress and she can hear all the men going out and which routes they are doing, whether its for sanding, salting or plowing! We are to get 8-12 inches and it started early this afternoon and its going to snow right through tomorrow night and we're supposed to get 50 mph winds and Mom is hoping that our power doesn't go off, she's stuck alone trying to keep all six of us warm, its not easy with an old coal/wood stove that keeps pooping out on her and that she can't get to shake the embers down from! She hate lugging that heavy bag of coal and all the dust it makes! We're praying that our power stays on,for our sake anyway!
Wishing you a greyt day and I'm sending you all my love along with warm birdie hugs and soft beakie kisses! Loving you always and forever,Dixie
