Pepper knocks on Khalua’s door, holding one wing behind his back. Mom Kristen answers, and tells him to come in, that Khalua will be ready in a moment. Tango sees what Pepper has behind his back and says FLOWERS in a loud cockatoo voice. Pepper gets embarrassed but laughs. Just like a too to spoil the surprise. Kahlua comes down the stairs looking so pretty, that Pepper is stunned. You are much prettier than in your pictures, he says, handing her the flowers. Kristen offers to put them in water – you can eat them later Kahlua, and I will be sure to keep Tango’s beak far from them. We had better get going, says Pepper. Jasper gets impatient all too fast, and our Mom let it slip that there is a surprise in store for her tonight. Pepper takes Kahlua’s wing and the two head towards the Mercedes, where Jasper is waiting, holding the car door open for the two of them. They wave goodbye to Mom Kristen, and they are on their way to the Milonga.
