Hi CuBird
Tell the folks not to get too excited. Mom thought they were going to release parrots, too. Here's what they did: they took them backstage, so to speak, showed them how they worked with the birds, showed them the birds that would be eventually released into the wild, then had each person hold either a military or scarlet macaw. These birds they took to a small knoll, where they 'released' them to fly over the park. Mom asked, and they told her the birds return each day, sometimes after 10 minutes, and sometimes after a few hours. They keep their mates, who call them back! So releasing the birds just means releasing them for some free flight time. They look great flying over the park, though! Hugs, FAlco
