The Chronicles of the Pirate Pearl--2014
Feb. 15 -All the crew are called to deck. They turn out in fairly good order. It won't be long before they are all ship shape. 1st Mate Polly gets everybird's attention to allow Captain Sam to explain. He tells us why our pirate ship is painted like a ride in Disney World. We are all surprised as he calls for a button to be pushed. Up from the floor of the deck there is a human pirate rises. He was all folded and slowly stand erect. Captain Sam holds up a remote and pushes another button which makes the pirate take the wheel and move it's head around. It speaks and starts singing, "It's a Pirate's Life For Me". All join in singing or dancing along with it. After the song our Captain puts the fake human away. He then explains why we have fake humans aboard. It is because we will have to wait in Gatun Lake and that all birds must act as though we are Disney birds. How all us birds and our ship will be in danger until we go through the locks. Then begins handing more controls to Cookie, Kiddo, JennyLynn, Nepoleon, Dr. BB and Arthur Alex. After we go back to our duties, we begin hearing more fake humans. There are a few chuckles and some quiet conversation. Much to think about for our journey.
