Hi Sammy
Sorry we weren't online yesterday, but mom had other things on her mind. Here we've had nuisance snow for 2 days. Mom had a meeting yesterday at the museum, then she got Polly's prescription filled before going to pick her up. When she got to the vet's office, the tech had more pills, some liquids, and a lot of instructions. Mom was able to pick Polly up though, so she's recuperating at home. Last evening she was pretty drugged, did not eat or drink, although mom squirted some water in her mouth with a syringe.
Today she brought home a bigger crate from the center because the one she borrowed before is too small for Polly's head with the cone on it. Mom tried putting a sock over the stitches and taking the cone off, but Polly got the sock off and was trying to lick at the stitches, so the cone is back on.
So far, mom has iced the area a couple of times, done some passive range of motion exercises with her, and tried to get her to eat or drink. Today she ate some cat food, which they said wouldn't hurt. She's not drinking much, though, and mom is a bit concerned about that. She did walk outside today twice, just long enough to go to the potty the second time. She seems a bit more with it today.
Today at the center, mom cleaned the squirrel porch, which is still full of possums. They released the first bunch, but there are still more out there, recently moved from the mammal nursery. There are also flying squirrels out there: they are really cute. Then mom did the RVS room, which is pretty empty, but not for long. There are about 9 bats, the heron, and the ground hog still in there.
I hope you are having a good day and staying warm and dry. Hugs, Willie
