HI KAJI !!!
Just stopping by with my campaign blog....Pecked a vote for you...Today I will continue to talk about the cockatiel mutations:(7)Pied (This is the oldest of the cockatiel mutations and they have been bred in California as long ago as 1949)Some of the different Pied babies that have hatched can be (a) Pearl Pied (b) Primrose Pied (c) Primrose Pearl Cinnamon Pied (d) Cinnamon Pied (e) White-faced Pied (8)Recessive Silver(First recorded in New Zealand in the 1950sbut that strain was never established and today's recessive silvers are of European origin. Here they were bred in the Netherlands during the late 1960s. But some of the original stock was afflicted by blindness.Their eye coloration is red, which distinguishes them visually from the dominant silver cockatiel.)(9)White-faced (First recorded in Holland in about 1969.By the late 1970s in Germany and reached the UK at about the same time.In these birds the orange cheek patches are absent. They can also have babies that can be (a) White-faced cinnamon pied (b)Pearl(lacewing)white-faced cinnamon (c)Pearl white-faced pied..(10) Albino (Believed to be first bred in Germany about 1980. This variety is the result of combining white-faced and lutino. But it must be done in two stages...If anybody would like what the stages are just send me a blog and I will explain it....If you have any more questions on any of the other mutations please just ask and if I will try and give the answer to you...Tomorrow I will be blogging about what the Veterinarian looks for in a healthy cockatiel....Have a nice day....With many birdie wing hugs to you....Sam :o)
