Hi Scooby
I'm glad you're getting that new AC installed before it gets too hot. Our robin is feeding 3 hatchlings now, so mom is avoiding the porch entirely.
Today the plumbers are hard at work at the center, tearing up the driveway to put in new pipelines. The water bill has been horrendous there lately, as it's an old building with outdated facilities. There are several leaks in the old underground pipes, too, just due to age, so it's time to get it all fixed. It's an inconvenience, for sure, but it will be better soon. Monday they said the water would be off for about an hour, and it ended up being over 3 hours. So today when they said they were going to dig up the driveway but it shouldn't take long for them to put those plates down over the road, mom didn't take any chances. She moved her car to the bottom of the hill and parked on the street. She never thought of how steep that hill was until she climbed it today, though.
Mom worked the desk again today, and has to go back tonight for a class on baby birds. She did help one of the interns figure out the foods and the dish sizes needed for the avian nursery. There are babies there now!!! Mom was so excited to see babies in the incubators. There are mostly robins and sparrows, but wow! babies at last! There is also an adult scarlet tanager in the nursery with a coracoid fracture, mom hopes he gets better soon.
Mom is ours for the afternoon, and class shouldn't take too long tonight, so we'll get more of her time later, too. Hope you are having a spectacular day filled with sunshine and love. It's raining here. Hugs, Falco
