Just stopping by with today's campaign blog for BOTM...Just pecked a vote for you Sophie.....Today I will talk about what Cockatiels do all day.....Cockatiels are playful and easily amused with simple toys.Because they love to chew, toys must be free of toxic metals, hooks, sharp objects or small, easily consumed components.Providing small diameter fresh-cut branches from nontoxic, pesticide-free trees is suggested for Cockatiels.Check with your veterinarian for recommendations on locally available safe trees.Cockatiels are very curious and will investigate anything new in their environment. That is why it is important to prevent their access to (1) ceiling fans (2)hot cooking oil (3) Teflon-coated items(overheated) (4) leg chains (5) sandpaper-covered perches (6) tobacco and cigarette smoke (7) chocolate, avocado, salt and alcohol (8) toxic houseplants (9) pesticides (10) toxic fumes (11) easily dismantled toys (12) dogs, cats, and young children (13) cedar, redwood and pressure-treated wood shavings (14) sources of lead or zinc (15) plug-in air fresheners....Tomorrow I will be talking about "Are Cockatiel Tame and Why the Wings Should be Clipped"....Enjoy your day...With many birdie wing hugs.....Sam :o)
