Did Somebirdy Say 'Corn On The Cob'?
If it's cooked on the grill, count me in!

Oh boy, I know exactly what your good Momma was going through when after working in that heat, she was like a barreling comet to get herself into the pool! When Mom was young, she had chores of weeding 3 garden beds before she could go to the neighborhood pool. It was so hot in Pensacola during the summer that she'd get up in the morning with her dad, eat breakfast, then be in the gardens in the early morning hours. Her Mom was strict & there couldn't even be one tinny tiny weed sprout found or there would be hell to pay. She wouldn't be able to go swimming nor play with any friends but she would have to work in the gardens for a whole day. It only took twice for her to learn to scour those beds at least 3x each! Mom would already be wearing her suit underneath her clothes so when she was done, she hopped on her bike with her towel already tied on it & ZOOOM! She was on her way to the pool by 10:30am! She'd be so HOT that the water felt like ice when she dove in it! Then she would be ready for taking her advanced swimming lessons & lifeguard classes. She was the youngest in the lifeguard class & couldn't hold a job until she was 16. But she could out swim the older kids which ticked them off. Hahaha! When Mom's family moved to Miami, she was all ready for a lifeguard job! She did get to do that at 15 because they seemed to bend the rules there a bit more. Mom's first year, she spent more time teaching kids to swim & dive & only was lifeguard for the public when one of the other people couldn't make it. Like a substitute teacher! Haha! That year was her first time she was part of a group of kids from the high school who took a trip down to Key West then over to the Dry Tortugas! It was an amazing place!

Mom will be going to the Aquatic Center on Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday around just after lunch, 1pm or 1:30pm. She's not near as fast as her younger days but the place is so big that it's a workout for her just to get to the locker room! The other 4 days she'll be painting her 'water closet' in the master bath. She has the paint from Valspar that has zero fumes. No worries though, mom's going to keep me in lock down & close her door & use a towel to stuff around the bottom of the door. She has this little window in there that she'll have it opened just to keep it aired out while she's in there. She's going to be sponging on a white clear glaze that gives it the effect of looking like water. The.color is a soft turquoise. It's very beachy. This reminds Mom of the Gulf of Mexico. At least in its better days!

I'll be squawking soon with ya, Willie! Hugs to all, SamIAm
