Hi Amber....
Thanks for the kind words. I am kind of stressed with this stupid collar on but mom said I didn't have a choice this time. She tried all the usual stuff first...vet exam, homeopathic remedies, plucking meds, a behaviorist, etc. The dreaded e-collar was the last resort she said. This is the 2nd time I've had it on. The last time I had it on, I plucked my feathers out again in 3 days flat! I was one busy bird! Seriously though, I'm sure it is all due to my past. Not such a lucky bird before I met my mom. Mom says cockatoo's are really smart, unfortunately in this instance, probably too smart for my own good. I still have my tumor on my uropygial gland too. The vet says not to mess with it unless it really starts bothering me...especially with my history, they don't want to give me one more thing to stress over. I guess there's no 'birdie prozac' coz I'm sure I'd be on it if mom found out there was. Keep in touch with me...I still think you're one beautiful bird! Birdie hugs, your friend, Buddy |
