I love the new pictures! Very cute. I know what you mean about your nephew's books. I also highly doubt that they lead to Satan worship, but they still aren't good. Escpecially for a kid. I love the Ray Bradbury book the "Silver Locusts" and "The Day it Rained Forever." Piers Anthony books are good too. I like his take on dragons. I used to be really into the Anne Mcaffery books. I think I've read most of them, but I don't remember which one Dragon Singer is. I liked "The Master Harper of Pern" the best. I like the whole history thing- how they progressed from computers to harpers, and then found a computer. I like Ringworld, up to a point- I think he could have done without a few scenes... But the idea is so cool. Have you ever read Fitzpatrick's War? I think it would be classified as Steampunk. It's about the future after civilization collapses and the Victorian times happen again. It's really good. I just got a Charles deLint book- the title has something to do with Jack. I really like it. i read Borribles a really long time ago (if it's the same book) and I liked it. Have you ever read anything by Connie Willis? She's really good. She has this series about a world in which there is time travel, and it's run by college committees. Really funny. And accurate about colleges. She wrote a short story about a guy who keeps getting parking tickets and the ay after I rwad it, the same thing started happening to me. (but to a different degree, obviously.) I got a parking ticket at school for not having a sticker, and they stuck it over my sticker. And then I got a ticket at home for parking in my friend next door's driveway. Crazy people. =) She writes other stuff too. Have you read Earth Abides? Or A Canticle for Liebowitz or Alas Babylon? They are all about life after a nuclear war, but they were written in the fifties, so they are all upbeat and happy. Mostly. that bird you saw sounds so pretty- you should get him! Have fun in Colorado!
