HELLO FROM DAISY'S AND LUCY'S MOMMY Hi Hannah, How have you been? Did you get another bird? Did you get a quaker? What did you name it, if you did? Does he have a web page yet? I'm assuming you did since you asked me what to do with it when you go on vacation. There are several suggestions I can make. Do you live near relatives or a GOOD friend? Would one of them take him for that period of time? If so, be sure he gets to know them before hand. Take him over to visit a few times. I would suggest someone without dogs or cats. And be sure to write very detailed instructions for that person. If that's not an option, could they come to your place at LEAST twice a day to uncover him in the morning and give him fresh food and water and spend some time with him? And check to make sure the heat is on, or ac. Again at night, to make sure his water is clean and to cover him up. If they could come during the day, that would give him someone to play with or give him attention. Last of all, you could take him to your vet, if he/she boards birds, or to a bird store. My bird store boards birds. However, I'd use that as a last result. I would much prefer to have a good friend or relative take care of him if you're sure you can trust that person. My daughter looks after my birds when we go on vacation. Her children love them and are so good with them. I never have a moments' worry. I hope this helps. I leave again in a few days for another trip. Susan |
