Hey fella its OK to play alpha male but not Ok to hurt the other guy so they bleed. You really need to be nice to your adopted flock brother. Mom tells the story of finding the 'tiels (before my time) after one had night frights and broke 1 blood feather. There was so much blood that she had to clean off 3 birds before she found that Romeo had broken the feather. By the time she cleaned him off and found the stump and got the tweezers to pull it out she was feeling very dizzy and faint. so she lay on the floor with Romeo on her chest just getting the blood back up to her head. It was about 2 in the morning too. Archie what you did was serious harm and can't happen again. You need to find a way to love your flockmates and share. I hope you can find a way to do this. You have a lot of potential.
Today we took Max to the vet. She has been having a large crop and Mom thought she was eating a lot and storing it like when she fed the babies. But the vet says that it is air. Either she has an infection in her crop (this started right after we lost heat and it got cold.) or her air sack has a hole. We await result of the culture of her crop. Meanwhile she has a great appatite but sleeps a lot. We will keep you posted
