Hey, how are the babies coming along? I finally got back to the pet store Friday and the budgie I liked was gone. There was a blue opaline, but she was a hen. I think Sam has spring fever, he's been acting so nutty lately! He wants to come out of the cage and chase Zoe dog! OF course that would probably end up in his accidental death... One of the books I got at the Colorado book store was a collection of victorian ghost stories- I bought it for my friend, but when I started reading it I wished I'd bought it for myself! I'll have to get my own copy, I guess. I love the way they wrote- the cadence of speech and the turn of phraze. They were so formal, though, I don't think I could handle it. I think most of our manners are atrocious, don't get me wrong, but I think there's got to be a balance between the rigid formality of the victorian era and the sloppy casualness of today, and that we should strive for it. So that's my rant for today. I've been reading the Brownie books by Palmer Cox (more victoriana!). I guess I'm reverting to childhood- just call it market research. I'd like to write a book similar to them, but with a different kind of farie (flower faries are out, too!), one that doesn't rhyme, though. How are YOUR classes? Any exciting projects? I made a cat-shaped pitcher Thursday (I've always wanted one, so I figured why not make one?), I hope it turns out ok. I might go in tonight for free studio (I have a cold, so we'll see if I have the energy) and make something shaped like a crow. I also saw where this woman made a rain fountain that looked like tree fungus, it was more beautiful than it sounds!, and I want to copy it.
