Hurray Hurray
This is what owning birds is all about. The joy of seeing your hard work pay off. What wonderful news. I am sooo happy for you all. I love your pics. Such beautiful birds. What a honour to be owned by them. We all know that when we take in a rehomed bird we never really know what we are getting into. I had a similar experience with one of my babies. He came into my home when he was 6 years of age. Never was out of his cage. Never felt the love of a human touch. Never heard a soft gentle voice. He would go crasy even if you where close to his cage. I never gave up. I showed him respect and was very careful when I moved around in my birds room. All my birds have free flight. They come and go as they please. This little guy would not even go near the cage door. Then one day he was out. That was step one. Soon after that he was flying off the cage. Then hanging with the other birds. I have a chair in my room that I sit and relax with the birds. All my birds will fly right on me as soon as I enter...except him. This broke my heart. Well it happen...just like that he flew on me. He now is not scared when I approach. He sings to me especially when I whistle. He is never in the cage now. I can walk right up to him and he is relaxed. The final thing that makes my heart beam with pride is that he has paired up with a female and now has a nest and eggs. I can go right up to the nest and he will not move. That was this week. I feel your joy and excitement. Its worth it'nt it. Keep me posted on the new adventures. Hugs...Jennifer
