Whinny is SUCH a funny bird! I wonder how she got her legs stuck between the cage bars- what was she thinking?! The poor parakeet at the store is an elegant- that's his problem, he was hand-fed but who knows how tame he is now, he can't talk, and he's not at all colorful (he's also $275- down from $375- which I think is way too much). How much are those bourkes at your vet's store? My birds are great, little angels (thank goodness!). Wind has been going into the nest box to play I think, she never goes in when I'm in the room, but I often find carefresh bedding that's been knocked out of the box on the floor of the cage. I've given up hope for those two, though. I was all set to buy another male when I cracked a filling- now the dentist bill comes first. Luckily he gave me a huge price break... Oh yeah, hobo signs are (or at least were) real. I think they were very common during the depression, it was a whole language. They even talked about them on The Simpsons once. I have no idea what I'm going to do with all the stuff I'm making. I'm going to keep the lamp and the pitcher. My friend's uncle has set up an arts/crafts website for selling stuff and she's been hounding me to sign up, so I guess I'll be selling though there. I've been re-reading stuff since I haven't been able to go fiction book shopping in a while. I read every day- it's like a cumpulsion. Right now I'm reading a british mystery, Landscape with Dead Dons, but I usually read James Blaylock when there's nothing else, I think I've read each of his books at least ten times, some over fifteen. I have trouble just sitting and reading non-fiction, I find myself just skimming or skipping around and quickly lose interest; I mostly use them for reference. The weather has been great lately, hasn't it? There are tons of wild birds around- both returning ones and others just passing through, and I heard spring peepers yesterday! I know this is Michigan and there's a good chance that it will get cold and snow again, but I'll enjoy it while it's here!
