Hello from Jennifer
Hello everyone. I guess its time for an update on how the Great White North Gang is doing. I am sooo busy these days its very hard to keep on top of the flocks blogs. Forgive me for sending the same blog to everyone. I will continue to try to answer the blogs individually when I can. I have a few minutes to myself so its a good time to relax with my tea and say hello to all our friends on BC. Well you sure can tell that spring is in the air both outside and inside. I have been doing the usual spring cleaning. My main focus at this point is to tear all the cages down for a good power wash. I like to do that at least twice a year. That in itself is at least a 3 day job. I thought kids kept me busy until I fell in love with birds. It really is a labour of love. My gang is doing very well. There is alot of excitement in the air in the Love Shack. The Cockatiels are busy AGAIN spreading their love around. So far our eggs have not hatched. The Cockatiels are still staying on the nests but I wonder if they will hatch at all. It has been 3 weeks so I am going to give them until the end of the week and then I think it time to throw them out. My Senegals are showing signs that they want to breed. I wonder if I should put a nest box in with them. The Senegals are rehomed birds and have been in my flock for awhile. They came from a breeder that used them and then tossed them away. How could I say no to these little guys. It break my heart to know how they where treated. I am working with them in hopes they will beable to join the rest of the flock where they will know freedom for the first time. Good news concerning Polly and Little Man. Today when I walked into my bedroom dear sweet Poly was in Little Mans cage....and I thought she was playing hard to get....lol. They sat together for the longest time. Little Man was happy to prean Polly's head until Polly knocked him off the cage. It sure did not take him long to climb back up and seek her attention again. I think Polly had enough of his advances because she went back over to her own cage and has been there ever since. I'm hoping I will beable to put these two into one cage. For now they will be left until I am 100% sure everything will be great between them. Its interesting to watch these two. They sure are sweet birds. Henry the Goffin Cockatoo (also a new member of the flock) is doing very well. He has been with me for 3 weeks now. He has stolen all of our hearts. He is such a wonderful bird. He has adjusted so well to my home that one would think that I have had him since birth. He is 4 years old and I am his third and last owner. He sure loves all his new toys. When he came home with me he did not have toys. I wonder if he ever had them. He sure is making up for lost time now. Being able to bring a Goffin into my home has been a dream for over 7 years now. He sure is a dream bird. Hope everyone has a great week. Hugs and kisses from my flock to yours. V4all
