Yeah the elegant is in his own cage, luckily it's a double-sized one. He has a lovely call that one of the cockatiels has learned so they talk back and forth, which is nice. He is pretty, just not flashy, you know. And I bet 90% of the people who go in there have never heard of an elegant parakeet, maybe more. Not like a sun conure or quaker. Hmmm, I'll have to think about the bourkes. I paid 75 for Tedi, but he wasn't hand-fed or even tame and it was at a show. I've got to make more money is what I've got to do! Whinny is such a hoot- what a little troublemaker! At least life is never dull with her around! Thank goodness she lives with you and not confined in some tiny cage somewhere being ignored! Last night I went to go to bed and there was a big toad on my bedroom threshold (is that supposed to be good luck?)! I'm really glad I didn't step on it... Either it came in on its own, maybe to get away from the storm, or one of the cats brough it in, but it was unharmed. I just scooped it up and put it outside. Do you take books with you to places? If I have to sit though one of my niece or nephew's sports thing or sometimes visiting the family (anywhere I'll just be sitting around) I take a book along. I know it's a crutch, but that's ok with me. We cut back our cable a year ago so I don't get the sci-fi channel anymore, I still miss it! I don't complain, though, I don't pay the bill. As soon as I get a job, I'll pay the cable bill again and get back all the channels. I liked Firefly a lot- loved the theme song. I also liked the Outer Limits, also reruns of Amazing Tales and the original Night Stalker (the remake missed the point entirely). I liked Wolf Lake a lot, but unfortunately didn't "discover" it until late in the game. I tried to watch the pilot of Supernatural, but quit within the first five minutes- way too violent. James Blaylock is that steampunk/fabulist author I've talked about before, don't worry, very few people have heard of him. I think I read Sheep Look Up many, many years ago, but not Gather the Wolves. Have you read any Tanith Lee? I read her in high school and really liked her stuff. I think you'd like The Handmaid's Tale by Margerite Atwood, it's a classic. THAT I could see happening- the combination of what's going on with the environment and the infusion of ultra-conservative (and let's face it- mysogonistic) religion into politics... How's school goin? My Mom was just saying the other day that with Michigan's economy the was it is and the redistrubution of the auto industry, CCS is either going to have to remake itself of it may not exist much longer. What do you think?
