Hi Autumn! Whew! Mommy was gone for the weekend at a wedding and we had over 2 PAGES of blogs to read! It sure is nice to have such great friends! Well, Zebe has been in my room now for over a week and, as predicted, we have become good friends! When Mommy takes me out of the room we call back and forth to eachother for awhile. It's great having someone to talk to while mommy is gone at work, and mommy really thinks that it is helping him calm down some too, seeing how much fun I have with her! She usually leaves his cage door open when she is home and close by, just to give him the option to come out, and the other day, he did! All by himself! Mommy let him play on his cage for a little while until he jumped to the floor, then she got his towel and snuggled with him on the couch while she was watching a movie...he actually fell asleep on mommys chest! She was giving him scritches on his neck and even rubbing his beak and he didn't bite her once! He gave her fingers a couple of beaky nibbles, but no bites! Yay!! Mommy is so happy that he is coming along so well and so fast! She even put him back in his cage with bare hands and still not bites! WooHoo! Well, progress is slow with the pet shop birdies. Mommy has been in contact with the closest avian rescue, but it's still slow going. The good news is she put in an application to be a volunteer at this rescue (its called Midwest Avian Adoption and Rescue Services or MAARS) so she can learn all she can about helping birdies in need! She's pretty excited about that! Well, I gotta fly! Lots more blogging to do! Have a fabulous day my dear friend! Beaky Kisses! ~Huey and Zebe |
