Surrogate Birdie Hi, Woody, I like to visit you and remember old times. It was good that you got a healthy checkup from the vet. How does he know you are healthy? You are 15, maybe you don't like being touched as much because you are getting creaky (arthritic?). Too much sittin' on the perch! Maybe you could learn to type or play the piano to get those knarled feet in motion? Keep those rear feather spiffy clean so Alex doesn't have anything to sniff!! Or, maybe he could smell the vet? China is fine. She is still working very hard to learn to be the perfect family cat. She went down to the basement kitchen with me to help me water our 300 African violets. She found that a sunny wide window ledge was hiding behind the racks! Good place to observe everything. China passed a big milestone for a 4 year old cat this week. She learned to walk outside on her leash. WELLL, maybe she didn't totally master it, but she was very good on the deck. She has been wearing her collar and is very nice and polite about putting it on and off, even purrs. We have a harness on order, so more adventures are in store. China absolutely HAS to learn to travel better. We took our Airstream up to the dealer yesterday to get some minor repairs done. We probably won't trailer until fall, but we want China to be confident and to make sure she can't run away. When we were in Yellowstone last year, we helped a woman look for her cat that had slipped out of their RV. Julie and Ediina are coming for a visit in a couple of weeks. I wish we could get China and Edina to be comfortable in the same room. Edina is so scared and attacks China. Ahh, well, sing to your mirror and think of Angel birdies! Maybe they can hear you!
