Hi Mango
How ya doing today? Well...my feathers didn't start to really molt out until I was about 6 months old and it was quite a slow process. A few here and there. By the time I was 9-10 months old I really had more yellow and orange feathers. My chest really blossomed out orange by then too. My wings have totally molted but I still have some green that mommy thinks will change to more yellow by the next time I molt them. Lots of blue and some yellow marbling on the tips of some of the flight feathers. More yellow tail feathers now too. I'm just 15 months old so mom thinks I will have more color coming in a few more months. I'm molting feathers like crazy right now on my head and back and shoulders. Mom has a bag almost full of my feathers already.
Mom says I'm pretty quiet for a conure. Some people complain about their sun conures hollering. I only squawk in the mornings for attention and then I talk some during the day to my cockatiel buddies in my bird room...but come later in the day....I know it's my special time with my Mom when she is done with her work (she works at home) then she comes and gets me and I eat my dinner with her and we watch a little TV. We are lucky birdies aren't we. Glad to have met you little Mango!
