Hi Nikki
One of momma's friends used to buy untreated pine 2x4 lumber from a lumber yard (or perhaps a home store such as Home Depot or Lowes). Remember, UNTREATED pine. Then her husband would cut off 4 to 6 inch pieces and screw some stainless steel hardware in the end to attach the wood to the cage. That was an inexpensive way to keep her Harlquin Macaw in chewables for some time. Momma went to a recent bird show in Baltimore and ran into a vendor with really inexpensive big bird wood toys ($5 to $10, vs the $35 or so she is used to seeing from other vendors. She will look an see if she can find contact information for them. Hugs, Malachite PS One more thing...when in Lowes, get cable ties. Mattie Sue Athan swears by them for keeping toys attached to the cage. Also, momma says that the metal toys at http://www.parrottoy.com are excellent for us very intelligent and mechanical macaws. She got me a toy box. It isn't functional not because I threw the wing nuts away where she never found them.
