Happy Earth Day
The thing about Mary is, she reprisents motherhood to the Christian faith, therefore, how you feel about Mary as a Christian reflects how you feel about women. Of course she wasn't part of the old religion- Jesus wasn't part of it either- but seriously, Mary was always important (don't let the men fool you, they're stupid, remember?). Ah yes, Muslims... I have a very hard time understanding why a woman would want to become a Muslim. I heard this news story about how there's nothing in the Koran about making women wear viels (whatever they're called), but that if you ask any women why they're wearing it they'll tell you that the Koran commands it. Brainwashing. Speaking of which, I wonder how those silly girls in your school made out- do you think they're all married to men in their fifties now (I hope not!)? I agree that kids really need a parent at home, mom or dad- or if that won't work, a grandparent or other close relative. My sister is the breadwinner in her family, but my brother-in-law chose to work anyway; my niece in particular had a LOT of issues, then my in-law was fired and within weeks my neice was happy and well-adjusted (total personality change!). I have read some of those Year's Best books, it's a great way to find new authors. Have you read the White Thorn, BLack Rose-type books? Short-stories by different authors where they take classic fairy taled and rewrite them (turning them into faerie tales...). SOme are just awful, but some are really good. How are your birdies? I'm still looking for a new budgie boy, but the only ones I've seen are green or green pied (or female). There was a English budgie that caught my eye, like a paler Prince Caspian with a much blockier head, but its cere hasn't changed yet. |
