Hello everybirdy.
Today was grooming day for my flock, and everything went as usual until it was Cena's turn. When I went to fish him out of his cage, he just stood still and let me pick him up. I was dumbfounded and became very worried. He is not a people bird at all, and never stays still for me when I put my hand in his cage. And yet today he did not move at all. So I picked him up and found another shock; the poor bird is the skinniest he's ever been. Like sickly skinny. I brought him to the bathroom where I do the grooming and set him down in my lap where he just sat there. He always tries to fly away from me though he knows he won't get very far. And today, nothing. When I held his wing open to clip it, he didn't put up much of a fight like he usually does. Then when I was done grooming him, he burrowed into my hand and let me preen him. Something is very wrong and I am very worried. The last time a Budgie of mine did this, it was Sweetpea, and he died a couple days later. I don't have much money right now to take him to the vet, and I don't even know that vet could help him if I did take him in. He's always so full of life jumping around and doing mating dances with Nyah and chirping and reguritating food for her. And for a regular Budgie, he's quite big. But today he is so small and quiet. I need everyone's prayers on this one, because I have a really bad feeling that Cena's time with us almost gone. |
