Bird Fever!
Aha, Sonrie, your mom is hooked! Watch out, every time you turn around, she'll be sneaking in another flockmate! Mom is trying to get dad to look into the possibility of starting a small breeding business. He is actually kind of favorable to the idea! Mom's mystery bird is no mystery. She wants and has wanted for a very long time a rose breasted cockatoo. We actully got to see some at Baby Jolie's breeder's place.
Oh, I almost forgot! Thay finally decided on a name. Yep, yesterday. Baby Sun became Baby Jolie officially. It wasn't so much mom, as the skin sisters. I think if we ever get any more flockmates, she's going to choose names ahead of time & leave them out! LOL. You mentioned a Hahn's macaw. Guess what, mom actaully had one in her other life. He was her first "big" parrot. He was a pretty good bird, but mini-macaws do have the macaw attitude! As far as we know, Oscar is still alive and well somewhere in Central Louisiana, and is about 19 years old. Mom got him as a weaned HF baby from Aves International in CA. I told you she's been into birds for a long time! Thank goodness for the dad we have now.
Mom's birds are here to stay this time. That subject has been very clearly discussed in our house. Even though dad was real tired after training his replacement at work then taking skin sis to the doctor yesterday afternoon ( she fell off of her bike & bruised some ribs, but she's fine-BELIEVE ME, ) he modified our acrylic cage so we could have 2 sleepy huts. And mom moved our toys into each corner out of the way. After all of that drilling, we couldn't stand being apart again last night and stuffed our little feathered selves into one sleepy hut. LOL, nothing like togetherness! Well, here's a vote for you & Sarika. I hope you are all fine. Fly by & see us! Hugs, Pebbles
