Hi KJ Here are the results from Game 1, copied from Norman's page. **** BATTLE OF THE LITTLE GREEN BIRDIES, GAME 1. The Senegals showed no signs of the long layoff with openning HR's by Peanut and Sage and then back to back triples by Norman and DJ and a single by Kiwi as the Sennies took an early lead. Quaker pitcher Quincy and his defense quickly found out that this was going to be hard work. Quincy started the inning with a triple but the the Senegal outfield of DJ, Hal, and Kanye slammed the door on the rookie Quakers. The Quaker outfield returned with their own set of outstanding catches by Waddles, KJ, Jade and Audie. The Senegals were on the bases again after hits by Niah and Peanut but were quick thrown out by Quaker infielders Simon,Peter,Riv- er and Little Bit. That seemed to spark the Quakers as their bats got hot with 6 hits by Jade, Micky, JoJo, Audie, Peter and Waddles that tied the game. The Senegals quickly got back the lead with singles by Savannah and Kiddo followed by DJ and CoCo's triples. Quaker relief pitcher Sunny was brought in and struck out the side. Senegal star pitcher Savannah retured the favor fanning the Quakers in the 4th. It only took one inning before the Sennies got Sunny's ticket as Hal and Codie scored when Orion slammed a HR into center. Pippin and Sage got on base but were left stranded by catches in the Quaker outfield. Both team's offenses were quiet until the 8th when the Quakers bats came alive. Photon's triple and Waddles' single was followed by a HR shot by Audie. Relief pitcher CoCo was brought in and quickly settled down the Senegal defense. Sunny and Quaker defense held the senegals scoreless and needed a big 9th. River openned up with a triple followed by Photon's single before CoCo struck out the side. Final Score: Senegals 14, Quakers 6. Watch for Game 1, Amazons vs. Macaws tomorrow.. |
