Helping Hand My human daddy and mommy gave a helping hand to a wild morning dove a few months ago. It was an extremely cold and strong wind that seemed to knock the poor thing silly...Mommy and daddy brought it in and let it stay in another apartment [cage] for about a week and a half. As soon as it was warm enough and the birdy was strong enough, they let it back loose. I wonder if it will ever come back and visit us!!??!! I eat my share of sun flower, safflower, millets, and my family shares a little fresh fruit and veggies, and bread/pastries with me. They mash it kinda small, and only give me little bits of the fruit/veggies. I like a smashed up cooked bean or two now and then. My mom & dad gives me grit in a bowl, and it helps keep my tummy in good shapes. My main diet is wild bird seed with a little extra safflower, and millets. My family thinks I'm pretty old for a dove, but I'm well taken care of, and I love the flying time I get. That helps me keep my girlish figure. Nikoda |
